We are pleased to announce that coming in our May auction is a private collection of jade objects previously purchased at Christies, NYC. One of the rarest pieces is an 18th century exquisitely carved white jade bird paperweight, estimated at $20,000 to $25,000. Also from the 18th century is a jade circular plaque with a stylized Fu Dog in the center, estimated at $7000 to $12,000. From the 19th century, sitting on a wood stand, is a rectangular jade plaque with carved deer, birds and lotus plant, estimated at $300 to $600. Another 19th c. object is a delicately carved round jade “bat and lotus” plaque that is estimated at $600 to $1000.
